Union Station is more than Art Deco architecture. It is a bustling location, great for people watching (and photographing).


Union Station is always worth a photographic trip whether doing street photography or photographing the architecture and deco art.

In 1972 I took the last Snowball Express to Sun Valley Idaho to go skiing. I was dropped off early by a coworker. The ticket hall was empty except for an old man and a little boy who was with him. The old man asked, "When is the last train to Chicago?" The ticket man, who must have waited years to say this, responded, "You should live so long!"
