I'm heading to Kyoto in March for a month, and am looking for a place to develop-only my b/w film. I know that Osaka has Horiuchi and Create (both of which I frequented in Tokyo before, and they blew away any American lab in terms of consistency, sleeving quality, and price), but I was hoping there is some secret local shop so I don't have to run back and forth for every batch. Thanks!

I would try asking at BIC Camera if there's any place.

Or Yodobashi. They seem a bit better to me when it comes to film (and developing). That being said, I've never had any black and white film developed there.

Or better yet, why not develop the film yourself? All the chemicals you need are available here, all you would need to bring are your tank and reels (although you could buy those too) and preferred method of sleeving. I've done that when I've spent a significant amount of time in other parts of the country.

Kitamura camera has many stores around. You should try to use their development lab. They'll do it in an hour if its C41 for around 1,200 yen. Development + Scanning

It's Kyoto, I think there are many darkroom for rent that also has the facility to develop black and white film as well.
