A while ago, the battery compartment door broke on my Mom's Canon EOS Rebel. After I saw it rotting in her cabinet un-fixed for over a year, I offered to get it fixed for her. Turns out the official repair place wants $40 to do the repair....I wonder if the camera is even worth that much thought I.

Anyway, this morning I called the toll free Canon Customer support number and asked if I could buy the little door. The very nice lady promptly transferred me to the parts department. I figured they'd tell me "we don't sell retail" or that I'd have to buy two dozen or something. NOPE! I got exactly one...and it cost all of $8.42 with tax and shipping!

Chalk one up for Canon.
