After spending too much time on the Freestyle website this afternoon, I came away intrigued by their Awagami Kitakata paper (sold by a lot of vendors, I realize). Since I’ve been looking for a creamy, “natural“ colored paper, I was wondering if any of you had used it for salt—or, if not, perhaps you could point me toward a substitute that’s available from the usual suspects.

Also, while on the subject—are there any papers readily available that are suitable for albumen? I’m about to coat some Canson sketch pad that’s maybe a domestic sub for Crob’art, but all of the Bristol papers usually mentioned seem to have shuffled off this mortal coil.

I know a lot of people use Strathmore Bristol, self included, for different alt applications. I tried a couple of"multi media" papers and sketch pads and was disappointed in the results.

Thank,Rick—I think you can still get Bristol 500 two-ply plate, so that might be my next stop with albumen.

I've used the katakana paper from Jerry's art supply for my printing out paper emulsion and it works very well. no. doubt it would work quite well for salt...give it a try and good luck
