Hello photo peeps.
I have a Hexar Silver, it's my second Hexar, got it a couple of months ago. It recently started with the whole hunt, seek, not fire issue that is indicative of the sticky shutter button. I had to cut one roll in half, put in a new battery thinking maybe that was it, then it got silly again. I just finished a roll, fast so I could take it apart and clean it but now it seems fine and will fire every time. I contacted Greg Weber who seems to be the go to guy, he said he didn't have parts at this time but that the later models had gold contacts and therefore didn't oxidize.
Mine is a Silver which is the last model they made (I think). Serial # 2829404. How would I find out the year mine was made and whether or not it has these gold contacts? I can't find any database of serial numbers.
If it doesn't I might do the clean, if it does it's just a focus issue of not being able to find satisfactory contrast to focus. AF is not without it's flaws, even in the best of cameras.
thanks
Adria
