Last year, I bought a Konica Autoreflex T2 at a flea market with the intention of using it as a decoration since it seemed to be jammed. However, now I'd really like to bring it back to life and get it off of the shelf. The shutter will not fire and the self timer is completely stuck. From the research that I have done, it seems like the jammed self timer is likely the reason why the shutter is unable to fire. I've seen a few people with similar issues on Autoreflex TC's that have been able to force the self timer to complete by pushing on the mechanism until it clicks. Most of the suggestions/"fixes" that I have seen basically say to poke around inside until the shutter fires, but I haven't had any luck with that yet. I have attached some pictures of my camera. If anything looks inherently wrong, or if you know where I can find more information on Autoreflex repairs/general Konica repairs, I would greatly appreciate it!

Hi Nick, welcome to APUG.
I can't help you directly but there may be someone here who has worked on this camera and will be able to help.
One point - it isn't necessary to post in multiple sub-forums. Most people will see any new thread that comes up, no matter where it is initiated.
Hope you enjoy your time here, and you have success getting your T2 up and running.

I have NEVER seen a camera model that jams so frequently as that damn Autoreflex!!!

It HAS to be the self-timer. If that lever will not come 'back home' it will never fire. Once, I had to force that S/T and broke it but finally got the shutter to fire. It could be debris caught in the delicate gear mechanism, but who knows? Take the bottom off and play with a miniature screwdriver in the inner area of the self-timer. How much can you do wrong: it already does not fire!!! - David Lyga

I have similar problem with my T3. The problem happened when I advanced the shutter and it failed to release. The shutter is in the cocked state. The self timer will run its course after the shutter is released. The T3 bottom is mostly covered by the chassis and can only access the rewind and advancing mechanism. A pawl on the round plate on the advance shaft prevents double winds. If you find one on yours you can move it aside to advance again. It may release the shutter button. On the T3 I'm able to advance again by moving aside the pawl but it does not release the shutter. I haven't removed the top cover to see if the release shaft has a lock lever during the wind. Maybe if you get your top cover off there maybe some clues. I have 2 mint looking T3 in chrome and a rare black with split focus with the same problem. There are some good web sites with some disassembly photos but I have not found any describing a fix for this common problem with the Autoreflex T series bodies. Good luck and let us know if you find something.

Thanks for the responses. I have tried poking around under the bottom cover with a screwdriver to no avail. I have tried forcing the self timer a little bit, but it feels firm and like it will break if I push any harder. In response to HeavenlyPhotoz, that sounds like the exact same issue. I am able to move the advancing lever by moving the pawl aside, but the shutter will not fire. I think my next plan of attack will be to remove another cover and see if I can figure anything out.
