I feel the need to preface this ad by saying that having to sell this little beauty is painful for me. I am facing a move, and unfortunately everything non-essential needs to go. I know that I'll probably never see one in this condition again. Anyway, on to the camera!

This is a Konica Auto S3, manufactured in June of 1974. It recently had a full CLA by Frank Marshman (CameraWiz in Harrisonburg). Everything is operating 100%. I recently had an issue with the back not opening, but I sent it back to Frank and everything is fine and dandy now. The screw that holds the rewind fork to the shaft had broken, preventing the rewind fork from lifting fully and disengaging the back. As I said earlier, this has been repaired and the camera is operating at 100%.

There are some very minor cosmetic flaws with the body - Some small nicks in the paint, but no dings or major mars. I would rate the body at 8.5/10

There are some small dust particles in the lens, but NO scratches or other marks. I would rate the lens at 9/10.

All in all, I believe that this is a remarkably clean and functional example of the Auto S3. Viewfinder is clear and bright. Camera comes with third party lens cap, which is not shown in the pictures.

I am looking for $200 shipped CONUS, not looking for trades at this time. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to PM me. Sample images upon request.

I foolishly was talked out of mine some years back. This is a real sleeper for capturing stunning images. The GN flash system is simple and effective, too. Happy selling!

....I never leave my home without mine. The best sleeper camera I have seen in my opinion. Stands up to my Leica for sure! I just can't relate the the AE because I like full control, but it can make the shooting faster in any circumstance.

I think it was one of these I bought to shoot news photos when i was working a bureau in upstate new york back in the 70s--may still have it downstairs somewhere -- only issue I ever had was that I had to put a piece of black tape on a filter and rotate it in front of the meter cell to fool the auto-mechanism when I was taking pics of people next to lamps or with windows behind them. One of many compact rangefinders made in that era, great shooters.

Still available. Drop to $150 shipped.

I will also consider trades - I need a nice wrist strap, x100 stuff, F3HP stuff, or an F100.

For a model this clean with a brand new CLA, I think the price is definitely more than reasonable.
