I recently bought myself a used Konica auto s2 that I wanted to repair/overhaul. The shutter blades were stuck due to rust in the front and the back of the blades. I decided to use hydrogen peroxide along with some Q-tips to try cleaning the rust. After about 2 days the front looked better than it did when I got it but the a problem arose when trying to reach the back side of the shutter blades. I'm assuming that to access the backside of the shutters I have to remove the ring at the back side and also the lens there as well (I could be wrong). The ring loosened up after using some solvent and turning it counter-clockwise but it would never detach from the camera. No matter how hard I tried pulling it out it wouldn't detach. Am I disassembling the back the wrong way? Is there another way to access the back of the shutter to clean the rust on it?
Wow. That's going to be a real mess inside there!
Try removing the rear lens element first, then try removing the retaining ring. You may have to re tighten the retaining ring a bit to get the rear element loose.
The retaining ring might be tapered and binding on the rear lens element group.

Sorry just a little bit confused, in the back there are two rings I can rotate, is the rear lens element the innermost ring? Sorry if this is obvious, this is my first time working with this camera.
I simply can't believe you did this operation Hydrogen Peroxided??? (use operation lightly) with the rear element in place & for that matter no way this will be successful w/out a FULL tear down of the S2
I don't mean to discourage you from an attempted camera repair but I fear you chose the poorest candidate you could have. You should probably look for a camera that is decent condition with a bit cloudy finder & slow speeds hanging up a bit & knowingly needs a CLA but RUST on the shutter blades & iris ( pretty sure the inner bits of this shutter are going to be as rusty as the blades/iris) is just about non repairable.
Like I've said & repeat look for a better candidate for your FIRST attempted camera repair, Just my 2ct.
