so i have a sticky shutter blade issue with my kas2. i've taken it apart, removed the glass to get to the blades and in the process had this part fall out. i believe it might have something to do with the shutter speed dial but i'm not sure. any assistance in letting me know where this goes would be appreciated.
Springs shaped like that are used for detents on shutter or aperture rings. If the screws weren't there
then they're probably rattling around in the lens/shutter assembly.
As John stated, this is the spring that provides the detects for the speed ring. In addition, the speed ring itself might have lifted slightly, and might no longer be moving one or more levers. To check, try all the speeds and listen carefully.
ok, making progress. found out where and how to set the detent part (just under the cocking ring). the shutter and aperture blades are working as they should and i'm in the midst of attaching the lens to the body but i've encountered another problem. the shutter release mechanism on the body is not engaging the levers on the lens plate. is there a trick to marrying the lens housing to the camera body? does it have something to do with the auto aperture component? i've learned a lot working on this camera and i appreciate the help i've gotten so far.
