konica auto s2 focusing ring issue

greetings. i picked up a couple of kas2's . one had shutter blade problems and the other had film advance problems. short story shorter, took the entire lens housing from one and put it in the other. voila, working kas2....however, the focusing ring is VERY tight. focusing to infinity is next to impossible. it will focus to 6-7 feet before the focusing ring gets tight. did i do something wrong in re-assembly? there were no shims between the lens housing & camera body....should i try adding them? if anyone has encountered a fix for this type of problem, i would appreciate your expertise. look forward to your replies. thanks.

A wire might be between the moving and stationary baffles. I suggest removing the assembly and see if the focus is still stiff.

success! not sure exactly what i did other than to dismount the lens board and reset back in the body. i would check the focusing mechanism back and forth without the board screwed in and camera laying on its back. initially, i would see the lens board rise as i moved the focusing knob to infinity. i reset it a few times (taking it off, sliding it back on) and on one of those occasions, when i moved the focusing knob, the lens board did not rise. i then attached the screws, checked the focusing knob again and it moves smoothly to infinity. now to try to figure out why the shutter ring is so tight!

for anyone also having problems with a tight shutter ring, i loosened the thin wavy brass ring (about half a turn) that holds the shutter ring in place (inside the lens barrel) and this fixed the problem. now to put a roll of film through it!
