Recently got a Koni Omega (woo!) and while dry testing it I hooked up my Minolta flash with the sync cord. It worked fine, so I went to unplug it from the lens barrel and it pulled the internal connector loose from the housing! Has anyone had this happen before, on any camera?

The flash post is just connected to the outside of the barrel by two screws so I'm hoping it'll be easy to get in and fix it up. In the meantime I'll be hunting for the service manual, but any advice would be appreciated. I'll upload pics a little later, my phone's camera is broken.

You may want to email Rick Oleson for his home-drawn service manual of the 90mm lens. He sent one to me when I asked. Assuming that is the lens you are having issues with, I believe there is a little brass nubbin on the inside of the barrel that the flash terminal connects to. If you can line everything up (this may be hard without taking apart the lens, the brass piece is free-floating, it's kinda like a nut) it should be possible to put everything back in.

The same thing happened to mine. The center post is crimped into the plate with the two screws. If you remove the two screws, there's only one wire with just enough length to un-solder the connector to remove it completely. Take care that the wire doesn't fall back inside the lens. I have not had much luck re-crimping the center pin back in yet. Ultimately I swapped the connector for the one on my 180mm lens which I am least likely to use with a flash.

Thanks for the replies, just coming back to this after a hectic stretch of work. I should have been a little clear, the actual connector came all the way out, and the wire broke. Looks like a difficult fix, probably cheaper to look for a replacement lens... maybe not easier, given that they're relatively scarce...
