I completed a rather large order yesterday at B&H.............so what's changed with Kodak's Indicator Stop Bath so that it can't be shipped but has to be picked up in the store. I resorted to ordering Ilford's instead that can be shipped.

Maybe it's not the product that has changed, but the shipping regulations. Kodak indicator stop is probably acetic acid, which beyond a certain concentration will be considered a hazardous substance with shipping restrictions. Ilford's is likely citric acid with no such restrictions. A quick peek at the msds of both products will tell the story for the most part.

Thanks. I know Kodak's is acetic acid.......and yes, Iford's MSDS says citric acid.

Freestyle will ship it via ground. I don't know why B&H won't do the same. I ran into a similar situation when ordering Rodinal - B&H wouldn't ship it and Freestyle would.

B&H ships by air so that the order arrives faster. Choices of shipping would be useful.

fedex and ups have planes.... and big semi trucks to haul stuff cross country.

I can order things airmail that are 5 times as dangerous as rodinal or stop bath via air mail.

I think there was a similar thread on this sometime ago when the reasons why B&H won't ship was covered Perhaps someone can remember what the reasons were

This shipping business is my one beef with B&H. Since I'm in the Philadelphia suburbs an order to B&H is typically delivered in one or two days, but there are a number of things they can't/won't ship. So I go to Freestyle when that happens, but it's a slower delivery. I vaguely recall some fixers and toners are on the no-no list too.
