Hi all,

Here is a quick question regarding the Kodak Wide Field Ektar 100mm f/6.3 lens

Screenshot 2025-07-08 at 7.56.32 PM.png

Can the Wide Field Ektar lens cells be successfully re-shuttered into the Flash Supermatic Shutter of a Kodak 127mm f/4.7 Flash Supermatic simply by replacing the lens cells and recalibrating the aperture scale?

Thanks,

Paul

I don't have first hand experience with this particular lens. I suggest that you measure the depth of the lens as installed in the original shutter (that is the front to back distance from one cell end to another) and record it, then measure again in the remounted shutter to be sure you get the same distance. There's no obvious sign that Kodak used shims or different depths of same-numbered shutters, but it's useful to be sure.

Thanks reddest, good advice - better safe than sorry!
