I apologize if this has already been posted, but my local camera shop (and the internet - in Japanese) are a buzz about Kodak raising film prices starting from July 1st. From the notice I read, Tri-X 400 bulk for example is going up 40%, TMAX bulk 45%, and some other films are going up only 5% or so.

I don't want this to sound like FUD, but I'm having a hard time finding any press releases (including Kodak Japan's website) have any other Japanese APUGers seen/heard this? Yodobashi or Bic said anything perhaps? Is this just Japan or all of Asia?

I haven't heard anything where I am. Like Ilford, I suppose they need to offset the increased cost of silver prices. I guess it's off to Fukuoka this weekend or next to stock up while I can afford to do so.

Well, 40% isn't enough to make me give up film just yet

uh oh.... the rising silver prices i was talking about too... am going to stock up, big time
