Most folks have noted that the T-max films do require EXTRA fixing, so you should stick to a "rapid" fixer, and of all the commonly available fixers today only "Kodak Fixer" (the powdered stuff) is NOT a rapid fixer.
Rapid fixers are generally provided as a liquid concentrate. Kodak does sell Kodak RAPID fixer, but It is packed with a hardener which is generally not used, and which makes the package require "special" shipping.
Ilford Rapid fixer is apparently suitable to travel by mail, so it may be easier to come by. It happens to be the one that I can get at my local Henry's store if I request it a week in advance. (they only stock it in Toronto it seems)
