Hey guys i bought an old bottle of Tmax developer off someone at a camera market and it was still sealed however he thought the bottle was quite old. Ive opened it now to have a look and im just wondering what color the liquid would be if the developer has expired? I dont really want to shoot a whole roll and waste it if its expired.

thanks

Probably a dark brown or reddish orange. Slightly yellow is OK. I was given several bottles of 5-year old developers, and they're still good today due to good air seal.

Best way to check it, if it slightly yellow, is to do a clip test, if the short length of film develops O.K., hen you know that the developer is fine and you haven't lost to many priceless negatives,
