I recently purchased a Kodak Retina IIIC in great cosmetic condition, but after running through one roll of film, the rewind lever will no longer advance if film is attached to the take up sprocket. Additionally, a part appears to have broken off from inside and has lodged between the body and lower button preventing the camera from opening fully. Can anyone recommend a shop for repairs? Thank you.

You really should say where in the world you're located. U.S., Europe, Asia, South America, Australia? That will help people in recommending a repair person.

That is why one should put their location in the profile so that it shows up under the name.

I stopped responding to questions about supplies, stores, or repairs if the OP [original poster] does not have their location. Depending of the country I can make one set of suggestions. If the city is listed, I can give a list of who is good and who is not [assuming I know that city well].

I will not list suggestions continent by continent for all seven continents.

I would recommend Chris Sherlock in New Zealand anyway. :D

I live in northern Sweden, on the opposite part of the World, and sent my Retina Ib to Mr. Sherlock a couple of years ago. He repaired the cocking mechanism.

His homepage is excellent and contains many repair tips.

I had a Retina done by Zack's camera in Providence RI, he did a superb job with it.

While not Kodak Retina specific, I have been very pleased with the service I got from KEH. Two cameras for an overhaul, one of them also needed some repairs. I emailed for an estimate, mailed the cameras with an authorization up to the estimated price on a Friday. The following Wed. I got a phone call that the work was done, but their was a small glitch in the Credit Card info I sent them. That was corrected, the payment processed, and I had the cameras back in my hands by Friday. They actually did more than what I asked, and replaced some worn, but working parts on the camera that needed repair. ONE WEEK for CLA and repairs including shipping both directions. Both cameras work flawlessly.

VERY PLEASED. Not the cheapest estimates I found, but excellent service, and not at all unreasonable price.
