I am looking at one on eBay. Does anyone know if it is a six element lens? Saw conflicting information in that regard online. Also, for whatever reason, will the lens performance equal the lens performance on the Retina IIIc which I have and enjoy. The Automatic III has a Schneider-Kreuznach, Retina-Xenon f2.8/45mm lens. The Retina IIIc is the same but f:2.0/50mm, so I am hoping, as to the lens, that it would achieve a similar performance. I understand that it is unlikely that the selenium meter will be acceptable, but I will be mostly manual. Any other thoughts about the Automatic III would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Automatics are poorly made and often disabled with numerous performance issues, worst of all being a sticky shutter (which you won't be able to get anyone to service). This is NOT a great camera to seek out, especially if you already have a IIIc - the IIIc is going to outperform an Automatic in every way.

I will blow off the Automatic III then. Thanks for the warning!
