Has anyone done a comparison between Ektar, Ultra-colour and Agfa Ultra? I would really like to see a comparison between these three in particular.

I just got my first roll of Ektar 100 back from A&I. Grain is excellent. Colors are fairly intense, particularly the greens. My A&I prints are machine prints, which are most likely digital, so I don't know how much sense it would be to scan the prints, and I haven't printed RA-4 for some time, so I've attached a neg scan, which also doesn't say much about how it would print by projection, but it's what I have at the moment. The greens are toned down a bit from the straight scan to look more like the print, but again, who knows what "reality" is with a color neg scan.

Hello,

I have now shot some rolls of this new film. My results:

+ very fine grain, but only a little bit better than Reala 100 and Fuji PRO 160. Yo have to make big enlargements to see the difference

+ very good sharpness, a little bit better than the Fujis

+ deep, intensive colors, good for landscape work

Whether you like the colors or not, try it, it is a matter of taste.

Concerning grain, resolution and sharpness the Fuji slide films are still significantly better. Reversal film is still "king of the hill" if you need best detail reproduction with color film. And the color brillance of slide film is still unsurpassed as well.

But the Kodak Ektar is indeed an improvement in the field of CN film. I like it.

I received my Ektar 100 a few days ago from 7dayshop; exposed and developed the first roll today. Initial impressions from the Jobo developed negatives look good but I'll need to produce RA-4 prints or film scans to make a better judgement.
