Hi all

I just got the 2 films above (it has expired in August/September 2008).

I'm putting them in the fridge now.

I have some questions below:

1. Is it still ok to use this films (same result as non-expired)? I assume yes because it's just 2 months after the expiry date

2. Which are the best shooting scenes for both (other than ISO 800 suitable more for low light)? For example, maybe Kodak more for skin, wedding, people and fuji more for nature, etc?

Thanks in advance

I've never heard of the Kodak film. It should be fine since its only a 100 speed and just out of date.

The Fuji might have some fog since its a higher speed film. I'd use it anyway. If you have a bunch of it, shoot a roll at 800 and see what it looks like. Depending on how you like the results, either shoot the rest at 800, or downrate it to 640, or 400.

I *think* the Fuji should be good for most situations, including those with people. It's just going to be grainy since it's a fast film. I'm guessing here, but the Kodak is probably one of their consumer films marketed outside the USA. So its probably similar to Gold 100, in which case its a great, punchy all purpose film. I have a ton of Gold 100 and so far its been nice for everything I've used it on. The skin tones might not be as smooth and natural as Portra, but I have absolutely no qualms using it on people.

The real issue is how the film was stored, if it was sitting, over an old steam radiator then it can last considerably less then the expiry date. If it's properly stored then it should be okay, if it's been in a freezer then it can last considerably beyond the expiry date.

Thanks guys

The film was sitting in the glass cabinet at the shop (of course air conditioned during their business hours).

Now I put all in the fridge.

I'm collecting the Fuji today. I pushed down to ISO640 the other day. Will keep posted on the result.

Cheers
