Thanks for sharing this. I just placed an order for some Kodak to beat the price change. It's good to hear that demand is so high. Kodak has lagged far behind Fuji in hiking prices, so kudos to them.

Price went up by 20% in the Amazon before it was all gone. Supply and demand maaaaan.

I don't really think you have an alternative, considering Fuji's film range, or what's left of it. And even then, Kodak is cheaper, at least I Europe.

Hopefully when the dust settles all the current products will still be available. I'll likely spend the same money and shoot a bit less film....possibly stock up via B&H and some friends visiting Florida next month.

There's been a severe shortage of Color Plus for months, my local camera shop finally got an order they placed in August just this week. Fuji 400H is in short supply too. I also hear it's affected Kodak's single use cameras, and the Lomography colur negative films are out of stock in several places - that's believed to be Kodak stock too.

I can't blame them for concentrating on the professional film. Thankfully I stocked up on Color Plus and Max 400 a year or so ago and still probably have enough to get me into Spring 2020.

That is great news ! I also hope they sink their profits back into their company and move forward. Sadly I already went to a back alley physician who removed one of my kidneys and a lobe of my liver after their last price increase, and sadly I won't be able to make a big purchase this time around.

Kodak stock? That can't be right can it? According to Henning Serger the latest Lomography Metropolis c41 film is a brand new film. He has been to the factory and spoken to the engineers. Could he have meant the Kodak factory and Kodak engineers? Surely he would have said so, wouldn't he? I have asked him to clarify his #85 in the new Lomography film thread but have yet to hear from him?

I very rarely use Kodak film - there are cheaper alternatives, however I use Kodak Endura for printing colour, so it is possibly fortunate I have recently bought a new 88m roll of 12". That will keep me busy for around a year or so.

@pentaxuser not the Metropolis film, the Lomography colour negative films....the 100, 400 and 800 ISO C41 films without any weird effects. Believed to be Kodacolor VR or similar. Certainly act like Kodacolor VR in the case of the 100 and 400. The 800 could be Max 800 as seen in Kodak single use cameras. Some speculation there but it seems likely. It ain't Fuji for sure, and nobody else is making C41 film currently.

Supply and demand is fine, providing you don't price yourselves out of the market.

I'd love to keep using Kodak B&W film but Ilford B&W film is much cheaper, especially in the UK, and the difference does not justify the higher prices Kodak charge.

Actually by raising their prices makes me appreciate all the products they make and that just makes me want to go out and shoot more film. The price rise will help them stay healthy.

At this point I simple want good quality control from a film, reliable results. Particularly T-Max 400 is a very useful film that isn't exactly comparable to other 400 speed films, as much as HP5+ and Delta 400 have their place.
