I have just recently bought the above Kodak Portra Lens to go into my Series V filter holder.
Around the rim it says - Kodak Series V Portra Lens 2+ Front (Arrow symbol pointing down) Made in USA.

Questions are -
1, Does the arrow face outwards, or inwards towards front of lens
2, What sort of distance is good for close up / portraits etc..

Thanks,

The lens designation itself already is the distance (in diopters), as with many such lenses.
