I always called it asa. There are "asa" to PC adapters out there that allow you to bayonet the adapter onto the "asa" connector of your camera and that allows you to use any flash that has a PC cord. I use a Vivitar 285HV with my Medalist II and it works super. Just search the Internet for "ASA to PC adapter. On the front of the camera is a flash x sync connector. It is not in the manual. Is it ASA or a8a? Looking from the back it is on the bottom left of the front. It has like threads and a little nipple. What is it called? Ken Ruth said it has x sync and with an old adapter can connect to pc. I wrote A8A but is probably wrong.
I believe there were more than a few Japanese folders the were equipped with the same.i call that sort f connector "stupid kodak type," because I've only seen it on a few kodak cameras. The adaptor shown in the pic converts it to pc-type nicely -- it beyonets onto a couple of studs on the original.
stupid kodak, almost as stupid as the stupid Leica plugs in the M3 that ALSO demand an adaptor, or conversion.
that thing arrived and it does not fit. The pin is too big to fit into the holehttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-NOS-Sc...116156?hash=item33b67f1dfc:g:YKAAAOSwuTxV9OnK
ASA to PC flash connector
return it and search again. ASA to PC flash adapter or PC to ASA flash adapter. Both return the same results on ebay.
KEH has a Leica M adapter Dead Link Removed but i do not know if it is the correct type for the Medalist.
