Kodak Medalist converted to 120- any market?

I've told my kids that if they ever sell my (unmodded) Medalist, my ghost will haunt the entire family until they get it back.

This thread has got me thinking about Medalist mods.

An accessory back modded to take a 6x9 film back? Plus modded extension backs? With a series VI screw in slide holder, the Medalist could dupe its own slides.

A purpose built 120 to 620 daylight respooling jig would certainly interest me.

I gotta tell you that you were born with the tools ( 2 hands and a changing bag ) ,try it with a test roll and a 620 spool
or already modded ones from Blue Moon (they're perfect and reusable and come with film ). Peter

I’d probably pay around $150 for a conversion — beyond that amount, re-rolling is more attractive. Now I would pay more if the work on the camera included a CLA, since the thing would be open anyway.

Although my response is that if I am going to deal with a rollfilm back, I might as well go to a Horseman VH and get interchangeable lenses (including the 105 Ektar), swings and tilts, etc. The attraction of the Medalist is the integrated small package.

Well, yes, that is my thinking. The camera will be broken down and will needs a series of adjustments just to get it back together, so it doesn't make sense to not do it right. Especially since I assume the point of anyone getting it modified is because they want to actually use it

I didn't realise that the Medalist has enough room inside for a mask, it looks awfully tight in there.

I've had an idea for an accessory frame counter for red window cameras. If it works as well as I hope it does, the Medalist could be masked for 6x7, 6x6 or 6x4.5.

Having it 120 on both sides would be the cherry on top.

e2a: Yesterday a friend and his 20 something son visited. The lad showed me some pics on his phone and asked how film compared to that.

I handed him a Velvia shot taken with my Medalist plus an old m42 50mm that I use as a loupe. He was gobsmacked at the detail. Kept asking how big it could be enlarged to. I'm like...that one is handheld. With a tripod and everything lined up correctly, one metre by a metre and a half shouldn't be a problem.
