On another thread there is a question concerning Kodak printing the sunny 16 rules on the inside of the box. I recalled that the Kodak Photoguide had a wheel for sunny 16 under different lighting. I found one on line from 1954, the calculator is set up for verichrome, Plux X and Kodacolor ASA 100, when set to full sun reads 1/100 at F8, 2 stops overexposed. Anyone have any idea why?

Just found the answer, later in the guide there is a list of films and corresponding data guide. Plus X in 1954 was rated at 60, Verichrome pan 64. My thinking is that Kodak wanted users to error on the side overexpousre and recommneded 1 stop over.

Try the 1981 version. It’s a bit more current for the films that still exist.

Paul, you will find some use for this old guide. I have three going back to the 1940's and I refer to all of them for information on old film, paper, etc. You didn't waste your $5.00!
