Kodak Kodalith exposure...

I have bulk rolls of 35mm film from 1991.
My first test rolls of Kodalith turned out over-the-top contrasty, as expected, exposed at ISO 6 and 12.
I'd like to try to get some decent detail in highlights, as many people have done by developing in something ordinary like D76.
I will expose at ISO 25 for this next roll.

Could anyone know if any colour filter would be helpful? Red no, obviously. I'm thinking no filter at all.

Any other tips anyone might have?
I do have some kodalith developer, but I won't use that b/c of the amount of contrast.

You would need to use fairly dilute D76 if you were trying this. A soft working POTA developer is the preferred method, D23 as well. The film characteristic of high contrast takes a bit of work to overcome, good luck with it.

Thanks for the tips. I hadn't heard of POTA developer before; found it in my Anchell and Troop. And I have the necessary ingredients.
I am expecting high contrast, and looking forward to it, just want to have some detail show up in the highlights.

If there is no detail in the highlights, the film is over exposed.

Back in the 70's I always used dilute D-72/Dektol to process Kodalith in order to tame the contrast.
