Kodak HIE 120

Perusing an article in Photo Techniques on IR I found a reference to a man slitting & spooling 70mm HIE to 120.
Fellas name is David Romano/PO Box 726/East Hampstead,NH 03826.

Apparently there are also other older emulsions available in "Aerographic" film.

Check out Kodak's website under aerial and infrared aerial films. They make all kinds of stuff but not in many formats. Does anyone know if their 70mm will work in a 70mm graflock back?

I buy film from him and can recomnend both the film and his service. I love the look you get from 120 HIE, and fact I haven't shot 35mm HIE for a while.

I would expect any 70 mm camera stock to work in any 70 mm camera or back -- though you'd need cassettes to hold it (unless the Graflock back you refer to is the long-roll type).

Worthy of note: I understand that the recut 70 mm sold as 120 has sprocket holes on one edge, because it's not possible to cut off both rows of sprocket holes and leave enough width for 120. I'm pretty sure he informs customers of this, but it's something to be aware of.

I had a Graflock RH50 modified (by Lister & Co - Lister Jaguar builders! ) However, as Kodak are now about to discontinue manufacture of 70 mm Infrared, I have only managed to shoot a couple of years worth on it.

I had a Graflock RH50 modified (by Lister & Co - Lister Jaguar builders! ) However, as Kodak are now about to discontinue manufacture of 70 mm Infrared, I have only managed to shoot a couple of years worth on it.

P.S. It was necessary to modify the pressure plate - fill the dots - as any pressure variation became visible on the film.
