Kodak HC-110 in smaller pkg

Hi All,
Does anybody know where can I buy HC-110 in smaller bottle? The only bottle widely available is 1 liter, it's too much and too expensive for me, yeah i know i can store it for years but I prefer smaller bottle.
Or if you have 1/4 liter extra would you sell it to me?

Where are you located? I've got some old hc110 that I was gifted recently; it's discolored a bit but likely still works fine. There's no chance I'll use it all. I'd be happy to decant 250ml into a bottle and mail it to you, but it wouldn't make sense if you're outside the EU.

Ilford makes an equivalent and Freestyle in LA carries one as well. They may be less expensive for you. IDK about a smaller bottle, tho'.

In the good old, the concentrate was sold in 1 pint bottles. You would dilute this to make 1/2 gallon of stock. 1 pint of concentrate would make 4 gallons of dilution B which would be plenty to fill a 3 1/2 gallon deep tank. Kodak sold 1 pint bottles of replenisher to go along.

Short answer no 1 liter is smallest. If you would buy some small Nalgene lab bottles you could split. I made 1 gallon Dilution B and replenished. I'm a 20 year XTOL convert, HC-110 was meant to be used from a stock solution. But once diluted it has a short shelf life. If I was still using I would decant into small 125 and 250 mL Nalgene lab bottles.

The old days, 473mL or 1 US pint of HC-110.

I've used Freestyle's Legacy Pro L110 and I'll be damned if I can tell the difference between it and HC-110. The development times are the same, it acts the same. The only difference I can see is that L110 is thinner and easier to pour.

It seems to have half the strength of HC110 being 1 pint only makes 2 gallons

The freestyle listing is a little confusing. It also states "Dilution "B" Working Solution - dilute the stock solution 1:7; or, dilute straight from the bottle 1:31 to make 4 gallons." I have used it and it mixes the same as HC-110. I never made a stock solution, and never had any need to make 4 gallons at one time, but mixed just as much as I needed using published tables. I don't think it lasts as long as the real thing, but my bottle of L-110 was still working great after one year of use.

Like others, I have mixed L110 directly from concentrate--same as I do with HC-110--using same amount of concentrate developer to water ratio and development times, and never had an issue.

It is confusing, I called them yesterday and the rep insisted it has different mixing measurement than HC-110. Anyone here tried the legacy with 1 : 16 and had half satisfactory result?

For Dil. B from Kodaks HC-110, you do dilute the syrup at 1+31 with water. That's it! It is not 1+31 to make 4 gallons. Most folks just mix 1 liter (or whatever amount they need) by diluting the syrup 1+31 by using a small syringe. This makes the bottle last 2 weeks shy of forever and why people like HC so much. I hope I'm adding to your confusion.

Just a guess on my part but it sounds as if Legacy is saying that its 1L bottle makes 4 U.S. gallons at 1:16 which is close to the correct conversion of 1L at 16:1( it's actually 15.8 not 16). If Legacy's wording in the instructions leads to users trying to make it all into 4 gallons of stock at once then this sounds misleading

OK sorry for my lack of understanding here. After reading thru the specs '1 pints makes 2 gallons' is referring to stock solutions. For use straight out of the concentrate it is 1:31 for dilution B. Boo yahhh!!! I'll try this product then.

I like the L-110. I typically use it (and HC-110) at 1:50 from the concentrate, mixing right before using. Right now I'm using genuine HC-100, but I've seen no difference except color when new and L-110 is easier to pour.

Seems like you've gotten some good feedback, and settled on trying out LegacyPro L110. To add a bit more data, I've used LegacyPro L110 exclusively for the past few years with a variety of different black and white film stocks. I like it for many of the same reasons mentioned above, namely that it comes in a smaller 1 pint bottle, is very easy to mix from concentrate, and is very economical cost-wise. I use it "one-shot" at 1:31 directly from concentrate, the so-called Dilution B equivalent for HC-110.
