Hey there, I have recently purchased a kodak flexicolor replenishing kit and I was wondering if it's possible to use it as a developer without the starter part, since I won't be able to get the it in my country currently.

I don't mind particularly if the colors or contrast are distorted, in fact, I am looking to experiment and be able to tweak my own results. I'm just worried about getting any sort of results at all. Also, I have read previous threads saying that a replenishing kit used without a starter will possibly get too hot and/or overdevelop. Is this information accurate? Is there a way to compensate for the higher temperature when it happens, or compensate the overdeveloping?

Thank you very much! And sorry for the extremely noobish question.

"Too hot" does not mean temperature-wise but simply overly active. You must also add water to replenisher as well as starter to make working solution. You might try just adding the water without the starter if, as you say, you don't mind less than perfect results or you can get it to work for you.

Orrr...... you could just run a roll or 2 of "meehhh" film through it . All starter does is chemically "season" your developer to introduce the same chemicals a couple of rolls of waste film would introduce. I've never had an issue of overdevelopment.
