Hey all,

Just bought some Kodak Flexicolor Fixer from BH. I can't help but think that it looks pretty old and the labels are kinda ragged. I've bought a lot of flexicolor chem from UniquePhoto before and it always looks new and clean.

The expiration date on the jugs say 17/10/24 which makes it hard to identify day/month/year. I'm assuming D/M/Y makes sense but so does Y/M/D, and if I've purchased the latter it's meant to make up 50L of fix so it's gonna last me a long time, and I don't want it to go off quickly (as it will have recently "expired").

Anyone have a jug they could check and let me know what order they use so I can determine the freshness of this stuff?

Thanks.

Nevermind. Just looked at the box and can see that it is in fact expired.

Should still be fine. Fixer will smell of sulfur/rotten eggs when bad. Also keep in mind that Kodak puts a manufacture date on some of their packaging too.
