Kodak Flexichrome color retouching...diy alternative?

In ancient times (1975) I did some important retouching using Kodak Flexichrome Color Retouching dyes...these are like wax shoe polish and can be very subtle (not to create fake color photos from B&W)....

I applied with damp fingertips or moistened Q-tips tho some people used artists' brushes. I applied, then breathed closely on the appllication, then applied more if necessary.

Have those of you that have used Flexichrome colors found similar alternatives?

Have you been able to restore the original Kodak dyes when dehydrated after around 50 years after abandoned by EK? How?

I've used those. If you still have them and they are dried out I'd try adding a drop of glycerin to soften them up. If you don't have them and are looking for something adequate try acrylic paints. Those dry dyes were made for RC papers so it's all plastic. I still have one of the little neutral color cups for b/w rc papers though I haven't had it open for a few years. Good luck
