Kodak EPP Speed

Hi,

shot a few rolls of Ektachrome 100 Plus at 100 and found it's bluish at certain level. overall I lose some shadow since I was metering the overall scenes at a hight contrast lighting (6pm).

So I am wondering.. 1.what is the true speed of this film. 2. if I under-exposed it, will it give me blue shift? if so, does this apply to all film?

When I use transparency film, it's usually EPP. In my experience, it does tend toward blue. Open shade, late afternoon, and high altitude tend to bring this out more. A 1A skylight filter will usually keep it under control, but you may want to use one of the 81 series warming filters for those early evening shots. For me, EI 100 seems correct. I like the color of EPP better than the Fuji films, despite its bluish tendencies.

I have been using EPP in 4x5 and 8x10 for 30 years now, it is my film of choice for my commercial work. I find it to be quite consistent in speed at ISO 100. I normally use Polaroid type 79 to test, which is also an ISO 100 film, and usually my exposures (which are mainly studio shots using strobes) are right on. I do not bracket. I do my own processing.
