I am going for the look of the sample image of Bergger VCCB ( I like the tone a lot), I was told they were developed in Kodak ektaflo type 2 developer. I did a little search here but not too much info showed up.
Is this one discontinued or if not, where can I get it? B&H and PF doesn't carry it. Better yet, does anybody know the formula so that I can mix it by myself?
Ektaflo type 2 is the liquid version of the Discontinued Ektonol, which was a powered two part warm tone paper developer, used no carbonate so was better for toning. Very nice developer, very long lasting and consistent, great tones and like they said, great for toning prints. I'm pretty sure you can still get Ektaflo type 2, I haven't tested against my remaining supply of Ektonal, which used sodium hydroxide.
This is correct. Ektaflo type 2 is a nice developer, and for me was able to develop warmtone paper without imparting a green color cast. Ethol LPD has been able to do that for me as well, and that may be a good substitute if you can't source Ektaflo type 2. I don't tone much, so I can't say whether LPD has similar qualities in that area.

Memory is a strange thing, I went to the store today and to took a look at the Bergger sample print again, it's not so warm like I remembered, in the matter of fact, the print I got from Ilford warmtone developer is quite close to the tone of the sample print.
