Some people are born on the wrong continent, You Marko, were born in the wrong decade. 
Just got some HIR week at Porters Camera Store. They have 16 rolls left dated 7/09.

So, when was EIR discontinued?
At least I can try Ilford SFX. It's $10 a roll though.
You should buy up all the HIE they have because there in none anywhere and its selling for 25 to 35 on ebay.
I agree, and as I said, Porter's Camera store had some as of last week. About 15-16 bucks a roll.
Roughly a year ago I think, by memory. It doesn't help that the stuff has a very short shelf life indeed.
I have two rolls in the freezer, bought just before the discontinuation was announced; they expired 11/2007... At least they've been frozen, but I'm going to have to use 'em sooner or later - the problem is finding something to justify using the last two rolls I'm likely to ever have!
Really? Still relatively easily available over here I think, if you're willing to pay the prices people are asking now... 7dayshop are selling at £17.49/roll for film dated Feb 2009, and describe their stock level as "plenty". Silverprint are selling it at £10/roll or £90 for a pack of 10.
The HIE availability situation is nothing like as bad as EIR. And at least there are alternatives to HIE - EIR is (or should I say, was) unique.

I searched everywhere in the U.S.A and found that every supplier is out and no more will come in due to Kodak pulling the plug on the film, Im lucky to have some in my freezer.

I tried the 120 format EIR
I bought 50 rolls of the 120 EIR. My test roll gave perfect results at ASA 400 with a B+W 023 dark yellow (9) filter (same as Tiffen 15 filter). I was shooting mid day in clear conditions in Southern California.
As anybody that shoots IR knows the light source makes a big difference as the meter is measuring visible light and the ratio of visible to IR changes depending on the conditions. Since this film sees a lot of visible light it is not as variable as shooting Black and White IR or Digital IR.
A standard yellow filter leaves the image too blue, and an orange filter makes it a little green. With the dark yellow filter my white buildings were white.
This is a recent emulsion and gave very nice results. I shot it in a Hasselblad back loaded in dim light and had no fog. The film was a little close to the leader on the backing paper so I lost 1/2 the last frame but I will adjust the start point when I load it in the future to prevent this.
If you are interested in this film you should get in now. He only had 300 rolls when I bought mine and I think this is a one time deal. With the 35mm stuff going for $40+ a roll on ebay this is a deal. In a non-self-defrosting freezer this stuff will last forever.
