I've had a roll of this for a while now and haven't used it because I haven't known what to do with it. Was thinking of putting it through a canon 7 rangefinder. Two main questions really. How long does it keep for? it's been in a fridge for over a year so will the film be completely unuseable? Secondly, can I use a canon 7 without batteries because I can't get hold of any. I imagine the battery just powers the meter yes?
I don't think any of the older Canon LTM rangefinders use batteries for anything but the meter, and not all of the Canon Rangefinders even have meters. The shutter is purely mechanical in all of them. In fact, I don't think your meter will be accurate in trying to achieve optimum exposure with any Infrared film, rather you have to bracket a lot.
