Kodak Duo-620 shutter?

Hi,

I have recently acquired a Kodak Duo-620 camera (Series II model), taking 6 x 4.5 negatives on 120 film.
The camera is in really good cosmetic condition.
The optics seem clear and the shutter speeds of 1/125, 1/100, 1/50, 1/25 plus B & T are good except for the slow speed of 1/25 is sticking badly.

Serial number inside camera is - 138684K.

The lens says - " Kodak Anastigmat f4.5 F=7.5 "

My question is - What is the shutter? Kodak S, Compur or Compur Rapid??

Compur Rapid. At least mine is. Picture of your?

a very fun camera that is photographically Speaking... highly capable.

And I know you didn’t ask but... seriously consider seeking out the correct size Series V slip-on adapter, hood and a few contrast filters.

Thanks Brian! I am having difficulty uploading photos at present, don't know what is going on!

All it says on front of lens is - >>KODAK<< with shutter speeds above it (125, 100, 50, 25, B T). AT bottom, it has ACG or is it AGC Logo!

Yes, 27mm series V adapter. The filters themselves are “drop-in”... unthreaded. Held in place with either a retaining ring or a Series V shade. Contact Tim at filterfind.net if you want easy, reliable, and fast service.

Mine, BTW, is marked “Compur Rapid” on the shutter’s faceplate.

Ah... interesting. The Compur Rapid goes to 1/400 shutter speed.

The info I found says it should be either a Kodak S, Compur or Compur Rapid.
Or is this something else??
Definitely a Kodak lens !!

Yours, BTW, is the first I’ve seen in that shutter. Despite a lot of looking on bay, though, I might not have noticed because until this discussion I thought they all had Compur Rapid shutters.

No offence taken ! That is why I find it good to ask questions on a site like this.

I would rather be told what something is or isn't by people in the know...(Google search can be a bit limited at times...)

I bought it in Brighton, UK, for £20 last week. Have yet to run a film through it.

That’s a great price! If the shutter runs, re-roll some film onto 620 spool and enjoy!

Thanks to all of you. Now I know what I have - 4 Speed, Gauthier Shutter. Dated to c. 1937 - 1939.
Shame the 1/25 is playing up, but, hey, you get what you pay for.

I will get around to putting some film through soon and sow you all the results.
