I have just bought up on my cine film supplies from the US and thought I would get a can of Double - X in the mix. Is there anyone interested in a 100ft or so to play with when it arrives?
Will check for fogging tonight, and if all is well I spool off into 100' lengths and post the approx postage costs over the weekend. Will weigh up the parcels and use the Oz post cost calculator to work this out. Then I will IM my email to contact me for my bank account details.
Any other Aussies interested in some 5222? I'm looking at getting another 400' roll, as I'm going to need to keep a bit of this film on ice, just curious if I need to get extra or not.
I also have a zillion Ilford and Fuji 30 metre bulk film canisters and I think I have some of the centre spools as well as many of the Fuji black plastic bags that envelope the wound film.
Andy, just another thing, I'll mix up some Kodak D96 to try it out in it's suggested developer, if you would like a litre or so, let me know, I'll make some for you.
Thanks Mick. Wouldn't mind trying the D96. Have been following the MDC recommendations for 5222 and Rodinal an have been pleasantly surprised at just how far I can push this film.
My next development is reversal.
I have not yet purchased the next 400' of film, though wish I had given our $ falling below parity. Will keep you posted.
Grainy as. 3ml of Rodinal in 600ml of water. 1hr 15mins with agitation every 15mins at 18degC. How far, well 4+ stops where there is still an image on the film, is it usable, possibly.
Could be waiting for a while before we achieve parity or above parity, well that's what the financial sections of the newspapers are saying anyway
Doesn't worry me as I am currently working on some 4x5" projects, but some interesting older emulson is something I have in mind for some portraiture work.
Looking at getting some more film as have family that can carry a couple of cans back in October.
I thought I would see how much interest there is before I place an order. I'll do as last time and spool onto cores, and bag. But as I am running out of 100' cans I can either wrap in Al foil or use a 400' can. Or if Mick's offer still stands take him up on it.
As soon as I have an idea of what the costs will be post it here.
I still have about 15 x 30m cans, or in the case of the Fuji ones, plastic.
I don't think I ever did get around to mixing that developer, did you ever ask me to do that?
We'll be away in late September, APUG outing to the Grampians, then returning probably mid October to Melbourne via Canberra, Snowy Mountains, possibly Adelaide.................... hard being retired.
