In my opinion aerial photography is the most advanced of the various applications of silver halide photography. This book covers silver halide film characteristics and how it is used in aerial applications. The use of silver halide has reached this state because of the vital service that it provides and the support provided by governments for military and intelligence purposes. Science was applied to this field as early as WWI. During WWII, Korea, Viet Nam and the Cold War it became very sophisticated with exotic optics, special films, processing, and analytical analysis. Understanding the technology will give film photographers a greater understanding of film and see how science is applied to this field. These learnings can be applied to other fields. Many of the sophisticated film tests were developed for aerial films and were then applied to other films. The table of contents gives an outline of what is covered.
