Because I shoot film I tend to notice where film can be bought and the prices. At the local super market I came across some Kodak colour film called Colour Plus. The package said imported, but also Made in USA. It had a Polish address and I think a Hungarian one too. Anyone know what this film is? UltraMax?
$9.99 CDN for 5 rolls of 400-24

Colorplus is the Kodak bargain basement C41.
We have it in the UK. It is often given away as the free film, or when sold, it often appears in places like poundland for a 24 exposure roll.

Perfectly OK as a consumer film. I often buy it as a stock filler to test out new cameras, and mess about with alt-process

Just used a roll for that very purpose and I was pleasantly surprised. My experience is that the processing of print film has a far more significant effect on the end result than the film itself and paying more for processing is no guarantee of anything.

Thanks for the comments. I wonder if Fuji does this too. At another local supermarket the Presidents Choice brand is Made in Japan. Fuji, as far as I know is the only one left making film there. I will eventually try some of that as well as the Kodak Colour Plus. Presidents Choice (for the Canadians) is $11.99 for 5 rolls, 400-24.
Fuji Superia and Kodak UltraMax was close to this pricing but I now see has gone up. It's still cheap enough-I was just observing. My local Costco dropped film a month or two ago. They said film is still coming in for processing, so they're buying it somewhere.

I haven't come across Kodak Colour Plus, but here in the U.S. the local dollar stores sometimes carry no-name 200 speed color print film that I think is made by Fuji...the package says made in Japan. It's useful for testing out cameras and sometimes looks pretty good.

There's also a film floating around out in the world called Kodak Pro-Image 100, which is not as good as the name suggests. I think it was made for parts of the world where climates may be hotter and more tropical than usual and is more tolerant of these extremes. I found a few rolls of it locally, unfortunately it's quite grainy for a 100 speed film in my opinion.

I do find it interesting that there are different formulations depending on the part of the world they may be sold.

Yes, I found Kodak Pro 100 in Tajikistan, the country just north of Afghanistan. They usually do not store films cool there, partly because there are regular power cuts. Interesting thought that it would be made especially for hotter climates.

I have heard it is the same exact thing as the old Kodacolor.

"Old Kodacolor": II? VR? VR-G? Gold? Gold Plus? Funtime? VR Plus? Retina? etc...

That's why I stay with the green boxes. C200 and Superia 200 is essentially the same film.

(At least since the 1990s, Agfa, Fuji, and Konica have apparently packed brand film into private label cartridges, as tests have revealed. Kodak's branding has been confusing since then.)

Hmmm, I don't think so. I've used both and C200 was given to me for free after dev & print. I didn't like it, but Superia 200 was ok.

are you talking about the 99c store film in the little yellow boxes? thats my favorite c41 film to put in my 99c store camera!

i believe it is made by fuji, but a year or so ago, i looked at the negatives, and realized that the filter pack i had to print those was very similar to my agfa film. maybe they bought up old agfa bulk stock?

Why is it I never see it in the $1 stores around here? Am I just cursed? I mean, I've found the little tripods there, and I saw the cameras once, but never film. TANJ.
