Kodak Brownie No2 Box model C

bergytone

Took the old Kodak box camera for a spin. Took me a whole summer to go through the whopping 8 pictures per roll. I first gave it a thorough cleaning, doing the best I could to coean the glass lens while in place. The viewfinders on this model are almost useless, but at least you could see an image. I like the fact that it has three aperture settings, and I calculated that the three F stops were f/17, F/22 and F/37. Shutter speed was measured between 1/40th and 1/50th of a second. So for most outside shots, the medium setting was sufficient with Ilford FP4 @asa 125.
I am impressed with the sharpness of the shots, with such a big negative (6x9) I would have expected more light drop off at the edges. A testament to the latitude of these films.
I've posted a few shots taken with this camera in the group gallery
