I just picked up a baby brownie special for the princely sum of $5cdn. I was wondering if anybody has taken any photos with said camera? I'm wondering if the results will be any different (other than a slightly smaller negative) than my brownie hawkeye? The lenses and shutter seem to be identical.
Also, I've seen sites that sell 127 film but I can only find slide or black and white. Does anybody know if c-41 film is made for the 127 film size anymore?
I doubt I'll shoot it very often but I'd like to try and put a roll through it at least once just to give it a try.
I haven't used the Baby Brownie. Other than cutting down some 120 film I think you are stuck with black and white and slide film. I have a bulk roll of Konica 160 negative film that expired in 2006 that I've been using to roll my own. I would consider a trade of 127 slide film for a roll of 127 Konica 160. I shoot it at 100, a few examples below. I did do some editing of the photos below after getting the scans back from the lab.
I have one that still works, although I haven't used in quite a while. I am aware of only two 127 films still manufactured, RERA Pan (B&W negative, ISO 400) and RERA Chrome (color slide, ISO 100). Both are available from Freestyle.
I have had good luck buying 127 film from seller jrdnmrk on eBay, he has 127 from cut down 120 for $15 a roll. He currently has Portra 400, Ektar 100, Tmax 100 & 400, Delta 100 and HP5 listed. He will also give a discount if you send him back the spools and backing paper but I don't recall how much at the moment.
