Kodak 75000 Vacum tube or bulb?

I have several Kodak 75000 tubes or they may be bulbs. Anyone ever hear of these? What are they used for?

According to Google, the 75000 was a phototube, which is an electronic device.

It would have been used in a projector to read the audio track on the film.
That makes sense for Kodak.

It should have a black Bakelite base with a few metal pins sticking out. That's the bottom.
Above that is a glass envelope that has a metal cap on its top.
The sensor is a curved metal plate inside the glass envelope.

Hi PE,

The phototube is a sensor, not an emitter (lamp).

Both lamps and sensors could be packaged in the same tube style. Yours is the more common type.

I've seen many phototubes over the years. This is the only one I've seen with a top cap.

Thanks for responding.. sorry about double thread. All of mine look like that, say Kodak 75000, and have a cap on the top.
