This was just in my in box on Facebook. Hope any enthusiasm in engenders helps spread the use of film in yet another wayby encouraging Kodak to keep making cine stock.

On that Japan Camera shop it is Y800 or about £4.61. That is about the same price as Ilford HP5+.
In the UK you buy XX directly from Kodak at much cheaper price.
One has to pay to CineStill for rolling it up, I suppose. And the retailer has to earn his profit.

So people keep saying, but only if you can buy several cans at once

I checked with Kodak about this time last year and it was £180 for a single 400' can.

Now £45 for 100' foot of film isn't a bad price as bulk prices go, but it isn't "very" cheap.

It's OK if you can find a few trustworthy cronies to pony up for a 5+ cans, but it's beyond the reach of most people to doit themselves i'd have thought. Or it's beyond me,which is what's important

I can't imagine it's got cheaper a year on either ...

I saw this posted too, $7.49 usd is pretty pricey for a 36exp roll.

Tmax and tri x is $4.99

Arista premium (rerolled trix) though only 26exp is $2.69

They are just profiteering in my book. I wish freestyle would take up rerolling xx to give consumers who don't want to bulk load an actually affordable cine reroll film. I mean that's how I started shooting these cine films, because it was super cheap to get 400ft cans or 1000ft ones to reroll yourself. Not so anymore after kodak jacked up their cine prices.

You are right, if your prices are right!
It is true one can find Kentmere and the Ilford Pan range in bulk for less than £40.
I'm sure you can roll up your cassettes from 100ft cans if you put your mind to it.
It isn't for me though as I like to open those very nice Harman boxes. I would be missing it if I was doing bulk film.

You misunderstand me Ricardo. I can do the bulk rolling no problem, but what I can't do is spend several hundred pounds on 2000' of film

If you buy short ends then the price is quite a bit less. Try http://www.filmemporium.com/store Since their stock changes from day to day, if you live in the US, I have found it better to phone them. This applies to other cine films.

Last Sept three of us bought five 400 foot cans 124 £ per can delivered ~ 15% more now and my chums have gone to dark side...

Yes I know Xmas. But as I say if you don't have a lot of filmy chums with ~£150 quid each to spend on film, or can spare that sort of dosh (~£750)yourself, then it's the best part of £200 to buy a single can, which is still a lot of money and is no cheaper per foot than buying 100' rolls from Harman.

I don't doubt it's lovely film, and that there are lots of reasons to use it, but cheapness is no longer one of them, at least in the UK

Sorry pdeeh. Nor can I spend that amount of money. I normally tend to buy as I go, especially for B&W as they are still more expensive than the normal colour Vista+ I use.
That's why I referred you can buy Kentmere or Ilford Pan 100 and 400 films cheaper than that. They are all about £38 per 100ft with The Imaging Warehouse.

The North American guy is not too bad if you live in North America. elsewhere you should try the dealer for your area listed at "Filmotec.de" and if you can't make contact go back to the factory "contact us" and let them know. I know that I was one of the folks who was unable to find ORWO in north America, and the factory said they had had a few problems like that and appointed the folks who run the north American desk.
