I just received a early 50s Agiflex Agifold folding camera and it contains a partly used film and as I wound it on to check if there was a film in the camera the words Kodacolor-X slowly scrolled through the red window and then the frame number 6, quick google and C22 process (never heard of it). What would happen if it got a C41 bath instead or is a dunk in B&W developer the only way, come to think of it is it worth even taking the rest of the shots.......
What was the difference between a C22 process and C41 process? Many thanks.
Thanks for the links most useful, I just used the rest of it today in my sunny garden, figured it's at least forty years old and the trouble getting the camera to open seems it's not been opened since the film went in it.
C22 was the Kodak colour film process before C41 which was introduced round 1972. C41 process temp is 38C while the C22 was 20C. If you try to process a C22 film in standard C41 the emulsion will melt off the film.
As has been said above, you can do home C41 at 20C or you could process it in B&W chemicals.
No problem, I developed the film Saturday afternoon in a strong paper developer 1:50 and because my thermometer batteries where not working I just gave it a 1 hour stand development, worked out OK but all I really wanted was the film out of the camera. Here are the photographs that where on the roll when I got it they are all boats some kind of boat yard, what year? Not a clue.
Right these are the photos I took on Saturday in my garden just rated it at IS0 50 and used sunny sixteen just to check the un-coupled range finder and camera, I did not expect anything but I did get something back including I think a light leak.
