Farmer's Reducer removed the yellow stain on the Kodachrome perfectly...

now it's a nice B&W negative

That is to be expected, but you will have removed some of the silver in the lighter density areas and you will have shortened the tone scale.

yes, it's definitely a fainter image

I also used it on my Tri-X image developed in Thyme...the tonal scale is reduced to the point that...there ARE no tones

Try the Kodachrome again. But before you do, lets talk it over. I can probably help you improve it. After all, we did the patent work all on 35mm strips of film.
