To be perfectly honest I think the only way to enjoy slide film is to project it. If the ultimate goal is to scan or print, maybe negative film is a much better choice.

Well, maybe, but you still get a much different experience (color and contrast-wise) with printed reversal film vs. printed negative film.

Then they ought to bring out all of the old factory-second Kodachrome that they have squirreled away and sell it in the hipsta shops as "Pre-Aged Kodachrome" for twice the price!
