Kodachrome Cross Processed B&W

So I bought a Contaflex Super BC from a seller in Germany and I just got it today.

The interchangeable back had a roll of Kodachrome II in it.

So after researching on Photrio...

I'm planning on a "Violent" Pre-Wash, to remove as much RemJet as possible.

Should I throw in some Borax and Liquid Detergent, as part of the Pre-Wash?

Washing until the water becomes clear?

I also plan on using Rodinal 1:100 for an Hour, Stand Developing, Agitating every 20 minutes.

I found that in a previous thread. Any other thoughts?

I assume the Stop bath for 30 seconds, using "Kodak Stop Bath".

What's a good Fixing time using Arifix (Arista Powder Fixer)?

I am thinking 5 minutes for fix, should I use a longer time?

Then my standard
Wash for 5 min
Hypo for 5 min
Wash for 5 min

Photo-flo 30 seconds

Any thoughts or Advice?

as i mentioned in some of those threads, ive never done this with kodachrome but do it often with other
chrome and c41 films. i just do a regular soak ( i thought rem jet was onl y on movie film ? ) to remove
the AH layer, and then process it all in either ansco130 ( or dektol ) 1:6 @ 6mins or split process
( did this 2 weeks ago even ) 4 mins ansco130, ambient temp 1:7 and 4 mins caffenol c ( with 20cc/L ansco130 )
came out great !

I have developed old Kodacolor X in Rodinal with satisfactory results. I have never Stand Developed anything though.

I thought Dektol was a Paper developer?

I’ve had much better luck with Kodacolor-X than Kodachrome as black and white. When I semi-stand developed Kodachrome the negative came out very dense, probably all the layers in the emulsion. It sounds like others have had better luck than I have.

So what how do you think the results may change if, you used the "Standard" Agitation (every 30 seconds invert 4 times)?

Any advice on the Remjet?

In those links that jnanian posted, PE suggests wiping the back with a sponge soaked in sodium carbonite solution.
And I known jnanian can tell you how to turn ordinary baking soda into sodium carbonite.

yup, dektol and ansco 130 are both considered print developerrs these days but they are also fantastic film developers if you use
the development time as the dilution rate ( 1:6 for 6 mins, 1:10 for 10 mins &c ) ive been using 130 ( or dektol or d72 or some black powder i made
up a few months ago, for ... like that for 20+ years ) ... i guess kodachrome is different than other chrome films with rem jet ..

yup Chuckwade87... you just put some baking soda in the oven on a cookie sheet at a low temp and evaporate the water out of it.. super easy..

it might be worth doing a dry run with some other film that has meaningless test exposures on it before you use your kodachrome to see
at least if the suggestions you found for using rodinal or dektol or whatever you hope to use work the way you want. often times suggestions
on-the interwebs work for some people and not for others or some folks fudge their results to make it seem like it worked but it didn't work as well as they
reported. its the way of the webs..
