snaggs,
Couldn't have said it better myself. That is exactly my stance. And the punch in the grain on HP5+ is a sight for my eyes. Personal (sicko) note: sometimes when the grain is just perfect on a print, I want to eat the print. I'm not joking. I haven't tried it yet, and I think I would be quite disappointed if I did. Still... my tummy rumbles...
Good one Time Unit! In fact during Victorian times people used to imbibe silver nitrate for curative reasons, and women liked the pallor it gave them.
I do indeed buy Ilford products, as well as Kodak, Forte, and Efke. When Kodak stops making black and white Tri-X and Plus-X and HIE, they will lose me as a customer. Until then, they obviously want that business since they're still making the product....
Here's a thought; Every spring Kodak raises the price of film. And just before that price increase, we hear Mr. Perez talk about stopping all film production. Could it just be a ruse to get us to accept the higher prices? Who knows. But I bet if you looked at Kodak's balance sheet, the ONLY profitable sector is film and sensitized material. Just remember that there are still a lot of dedicated people in Rochester New York, no matter where the CEO puts his head at night.
