Kiki pan 320?

datasheet from filmotec germany site;


‘Exposure index: ISO 320 / 26°
The speed value refers to a developed N 75 average gradient of 0.65.’

Reference is sometimes made to it being 400 iso as well in general marketing info, (seemingly also by orwo usa) that might be a carry over from n74. Although its primarily made as a cinefilm, both it and un54 are widely used for stills too. Standard developer d96.

There seems to be some confusion at ORWO. The text on the ORWO North America N75 webpage says both "400asa" and ISO 400, the sticker on the N75 film can in the first picture says EI 400 for daylight, and the stickers on the N75 film cans in the second and third pictures say EI 320 daylight. I guess the technical datasheet is most likely to be correct.

My experience with N75 is that 320(or even lower) is unfortunately the usable speed. I have been told that it is the same formula as N74 but coated on a different machine/factory. My results so far at 400 looked very underexposed. to the point that after running several hundred feet of N74, I am unlikely to buy more N75.

Orwo N74....I've shot one roll of the older stuff on std 8mm in a jazz club and it came out wonderfully. However that was not a scientific study of the ISO rating of the film. All I can say is that I ended up finding times from MDC I think for 400ISO in ID-11 and developed it as a negative cine film in my Lomo spiral tank. Got some lovely, correctly exposed footage which I scanned and reversed electronically to produce what is likely the only motion picture film ever shot at the club. The grain was impressive for 8mm film so I can totally see that film working as a still camera film. If N75 is similar, it'd be good stuff.

As has been mentioned, this film has different developing time compared to CatLab 320.
BUT.............. I wonder if it is a difference on purpose to show that it can't be the same film.
(B&W films can be tolerant of different times)

I'll try and cut a long story short and make it film related.

So I make no secret of the fact that I'm polyamorous. I'm handfasted to a woman who also has a legal husband, and refers to both of us as her husbands. Myself and co-husband are looking at buying her Kiki film as she's into film photography and thinks the film box is cute. Meanwhile my legal wife needs some 127 film for her Baby Hawkeye, but she's much less into photography.
 
Any relation with Kiki de Montparnasse, muse of (a.o.) Man Ray and Foujita??



There is famous picture of Kiki by Man Ray (auctioned recently for a lot of money), but I'm unsure if the forum rules allow posting it...

Aviphot films are coated at Agfa Gevaert, Mortsel, Belgium.

Aviphot 200 is still listed as a current product along with 20/40/80 (in 240mm widths for aerial use), but current level of production/sales is unknown.

Right expression, the "blurb".
The owner of this shop "camerafilmphoto" is Vishal Soniji (HK guy with indian roots).
And this guy is simply not trustworthy at all.
Period.
I have talked to him at two different Photokina fairs in Cologne.
At both times I presented me in a "shy" way and did not present my knowledge of film photography. I just asked several questions and let him talk. And he talked much, really much........and to say that was he said were fairy tales, would be very diplomatic.
Well truth is that he told many, many total lies. He probably thought I was one of these new film shooters with no background knowledge at all.
For example he repeated all these stupid lies about JCH Street Pan which Bellamy Hunt has told at the introduction of his film scam. And of course he did not tell the truth that Street Pan is just repackaged Aviphot Pan 200 at insanely high rip-off prices.
And he told the lies that Bergger is a real film and paper manufacterer with own R&D and own factory. What a BS!! As we all know the truth is that Bergger is a tiny (two guys) branding and distribution company. And that Bergger paper is made by Harman, the Bergger Pancro film is made by InovisCoat, and the Bergger chemistry is made by Tetenal and Moersch.

No matter what is inside the "Kiki Pan" box: It will definitely be a film which is already on the market for years, and nothing new.
And the price will be higher than the orginal film.
