Kiki pan 320?

Been seeing this all over IG today. Catlabs 320 in another package? Someone else rebranding avipot/superpan 200? They even have the cat thing on the label and on the film rebate (go to IG page for more images of the developed film).

FWIW, I have no knowledge on this film. Maybe someone else does?

Well... my wife will be thrilled with all this cat stuff... One of our cats is named Kiki, by the way. Maybe the next one will be named after our other cat, Jiji (they are sisters)

Lol, lots of cat stuff lately. Maybe a new thing. If they name a film after 1 of my cats, I may buy some. FWIW, just checked their online store. Pricier than the Catlabs stuff.

Considering the business relationships it would not surprise me at all if it is just another Agfa Aviphot Pan 200 repackaging...... .
Definitely nothing new nor special.

I think that it is time for a new series of "CAT" films:

Sylvester HS: A fast black and white film for ornithologists.

Tabby Gray MS: A medium speed black and white film that gets gray stripes around the sprocket holes no matter how you agitate it.

Manx 320: A film without documentation so it is short on D-Tails.

Tortoiseshell CN: A color negative film that has backing paper offset to the film for a creative look.

Maine coon Ortho: A black and white film with a very soft contrast and even softer emulsion. This film would be good for the photographer that has a fuzzy concept of what he wants in the photograph.

Cat Pan #1 and Cat Pan #2: A black and white fine art film for large and ultra large format photographers that you can really dig into. And for whole plate shooters, we have you covered. And as an added bonus the empty box can be used for your cats litter box.

All the films would include a 10 cent per box donation to the ASPCA in order to expose photographers to the good things they do.

You forgot the Cheshire Cat film, which grins at you, but slowly disappears, or a Schrödinger's Cat film, which may or may not have a roll of film in the box.

I thought it was named after Man Ray's lover, Kiki de Montparnasse. In any case, they get my vote for the best name for a film in many a year.

wouldn't that be Ilford PanF+ 50? since the latent image slowly disappears unless you develop quickly?

And what happens when you "fix" the cat films?

Whats with the outbreak of 320 iso films, simply that 320 sounds more interesting than boring old 400? Or is it a more realistic assessment of a ‘400’ iso film?

Ars imago (italy) also offer a 320 (own brand) film

If you go to the page of the company actually selling it.....one of the photos shows the other side of the box with "made in EU" printed. So is this Agfa Aviphot 200 again????

There must be a glut of Agfa Aviphot 200 available for these rebranders. And Ilford must have excess capacity on its confection line. I wonder if it took Camera Film Photo four years to bring out Kiki Pan too?

Without rebranders, there would be no Agfa Aviphot in 135 or 120.

Is that because most photographers would not knowingly purchase an aerial surveillance film? Rebranders do not disclose what the film is. They just say that it has unique characteristics. Maybe Agfa should market it under a different name like Agfa Katze Pan, and say it has unique characteristics. Maybe say it has a silvery/metallic look. And that it is good for street photography. They could probably undercut the rebranders on price.

Agfa doesn't market it at all, far as I can tell. They make it and sell it as a aerial film - they don't make, package, market, or sell any normal photography film - they don't make any 135 or 120 for photographers. They make and sell technical film for industrial use.

From that description sounds like orwo n75 which is an iso 320 film* coated by inoviscoat in germany and converted and packaged by harman In uk.

aviphot would be from belgium.
*which probably answers my own question above!
